In May 2021 Cattrell Companies Inc. began a major renovation project for the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Steubenville, Ohio that is scheduled to be complete in December 2022. As the general and plumbing and pipefitting contractors, Cattrell is uniquely qualified to handle an undertaking of this magnitude. Bryan Hyndman and Paul Liggett are the project managers of the renovations and upgrades. The Waste Water Treatment Plan at 100 North Water Street is responsible for collecting and cleaning the four million gallons per day of wastewater generated by its customers to meet the water quality standards established by the EPA. The important upgrades that are regulated by the EPA include upgrading the SCADA Systems, refurbishing the PAA disinfectant tanks, and replacing the bubble diffusers and pumps. These upgrades will renovate an aging infrastructure and will ensure that EPA mandates are followed. The SCADA system monitors levels of specific chemicals and toxins and provides for accessible records from any location. Additionally, the Peracetic Acid System will be installed. This is a unique component that treats the water to kill any remaining bacteria before being discharged. “Cattrell provides extensive experience in every phase of project management as well as a division to handle the stainless steel pipe welding on this project,” said Paul Liggett. “We are excited to be a part of such an important project for the health and well- being of the Steubenville community.” Cattrell Companies brings more than 80 years of experience in all aspects of construction to a project including general contracting, electrical, plumbing, piping, HVAC along with sheet metal and piping fabrication shops. Cattrell Companies Inc. is currently in phase 19 of a 24 phase historic renovation project of the Bridge Tavern Building in Wheeling scheduled to be completed in June 2021. The general contracting division of Cattrell Companies Inc. is overseeing this massive renovation project while many tenants continue to operate their businesses. The extensive renovations which include a new stair tower, elevators and building structural and cosmetic repair are under the direction of Cattrell’s Wheeling division managers, Mike Boone and Brian Applegarth. This is one of two historic renovation projects Cattrell is currently constructing in Wheeling. The Bridge Tavern is in downtown Wheeling on the corner of Main Street and 10th Street at the base of the historic Wheeling Suspension Bridge. The Bridge Tavern has been a Wheeling institution for over 60 years with office spaces, a banquet hall, a restaurant and apartments. With doors from the 1890s and beautifully crafted wood trim, base and crown moldings, this project relies on craftmanship and sensitivity to preservation as well as the traditional skills of Cattrell’s general contracting division. “This is one of many renovation projects in which we have been involved in downtown Wheeling,” said Christine Hargrave, President/CEO of Cattrell Companies, Inc. “Cattrell Companies Inc., is proud to be part of the historic renovation and preservation of this beautiful city.
